Bhopal: Man rapes daughter; cousin blackmails her with obscene video
In a shocking incident, a man was booked for repeatedly raping his daughter over the course of a year in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The victim, 19, filed a complaint against her father at the Ashoka Garden police station on Saturday. Reportedly, the complaint also named the victim's cousin who molested, filmed, and blackmailed her. Here are more details.
Man raped daughter many times since September 2018
SHO Ashoka Garden police station Umesh Yadav told The Free Press Journal that the man first raped his daughter at their home on September 22, 2018, when they were alone. Thereafter, he continued to sexually assault her on multiple occasions over the year. The man also threatened her life if she ever dared to reveal the incidents to anyone.
After victim told cousin about rape, he molested her
When the victim's cousin was staying over, she reportedly confided in him about the sexual assault. However, instead of helping the victim, the cousin also molested her multiple times. According to the victim's complaint, the cousin filmed her while she was bathing and used the clip to blackmail her. He also tried pressurizing her into marrying him.
Victim's mother helped her file complaint; both accused at large
After repeated abuse, the victim eventually narrated her ordeal to her mother. The two approached the police to file a complaint against the victim's father and cousin. The Ashoka Garden police have registered a case of rape against the father and the cousin was booked for blackmail, according to FPJ. Both the accused are currently on the run.
