PM Modi to expand "Beti Bachao", launch National Nutrition Mission
PM Narendra Modi will tomorrow inaugurate the pan-India expansion of "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" initiative in Rajasthan's Jhunjunu where he will also launch the National Nutrition Mission. Beti Bachao programme will be expanded from the present 161 districts to 640 districts across India. He will also interact with beneficiary mothers and girls of the programme and distribute certificates to best performing districts. Here's more.
All about the National Nutrition Mission
PM Modi will launch the National Nutrition Mission (NNM) on a nation-wide basis tomorrow. The schemes are being expanded and launched on the International Women's Day. He will launch the NNM-ICDS common application software. "The mission strives to reduce under-nutrition and low birth weight, bring down anemia among young children, women and adolescent girls, and...prevalence of stunting among children," an official statement said.
