Bengaluru: Zomato launches South India's first 'resting point'
Food delivery aggregator Zomato on Sunday launched a new resting point for its delivery partners at Vega City Mall in Karnataka's Bengaluru. Tejasvi Surya, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bangalore South, attended the launch event. Zomato started building resting points in February
According to Hindustan Times, Zomato had earlier announced that its resting points could also be accessed by delivery partners of other companies as well. Announcing "The Shelter Project" in February, Zomato CEO Depinder Goyal said, "We've started building public infrastructure (rest points) to support the well-being of delivery partners of various companies." Before Bengaluru, Zomato has already inaugurated a few resting points in Gurugram.
High-speed internet, first aid, washrooms among amenities
As per Zomato, its resting points will have basic amenities like washrooms, first aid, drinking water, and mobile phone charging points. The delivery partners would also be able to access high-speed internet on their digital devices. These facilities can also be availed by delivery persons of other brands, too, as per reports.
