His body was discovered weeks after he had fled Bengaluru, narrowly escaping investigators who were on his trail. According to the authorities, he was found hanging. Suicide note sheds light on victim's tragic death
The suicide note found near Roy's body detailed a violent confrontation between him and Mahalakshmi, which ended in her death. The note allegedly mentions that Roy struck Mahalakshmi on the head during an argument at her residence. The note also revealed a close relationship between the two that began in late 2023.
Victim's gruesome murder sends shockwaves through Bengaluru
Mahalakshmi, a 29-year-old mall employee in Bengaluru, was found brutally murdered at her residence on September 21. Her dismembered body was discovered inside a refrigerator, cut into 59 pieces. The murder weapon has yet to be found by the police. Mahalakshmi and Roy worked at the same store where he served as manager. After she was found murdered, Roy had gone missing, and call records between the two led the police to suspect Roy's role in the murder.
Investigation continues despite suspect's death
According to reports, Mahalaxmi's final day at work was on September 1. The authorities are under the impression that she was murdered on September 2 or September 3. However, the authorities have yet to disclose the reason. Investigators from Bengaluru's Vyalikaval Police Station are now coordinating with Odisha authorities to further the investigation.
