    What's the story

Mukti Ranjan Roy, the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a woman named Mahalakshmi, was found dead in Odisha on Wednesday.

His body was discovered weeks after he had fled Bengaluru, narrowly escaping investigators who were on his trail.

According to the authorities, he was found hanging. They also found various personal items at the scene, including his bag, laptop, and phone.

Alongside his body, authorities found a suicide note that provided insight into the circumstances surrounding Mahalakshmi's death.

Suicide note sheds light on victim's tragic death

The suicide note found near Roy's body detailed a violent confrontation between him and Mahalakshmi, which ended in her death.

The note allegedly mentions that Roy struck Mahalakshmi on the head during an argument at her residence.

The note also revealed a close relationship between the two that began in late 2023.

Victim's gruesome murder sends shockwaves through Bengaluru

Mahalakshmi, a 29-year-old mall employee in Bengaluru, was found brutally murdered at her residence on September 21.

Her dismembered body was discovered inside a refrigerator, cut into 59 pieces.

The murder weapon has yet to be found by the police.

Mahalakshmi and Roy worked at the same store where he served as manager.

After she was found murdered, Roy had gone missing, and call records between the two led the police to suspect Roy's role in the murder.
