Bengal welcomes you to 'Ahare Bangla', its uber-popular food festival
What's the story
The annual food festival 'Ahare Bangla', organized by West Bengal government in Kolkata, is offering a wide variety of dishes.
About 125 food stalls, including those by government organizations and private sweetmeat shops, have been installed to cater to the choice of the visitors, in the six-day festival, which was inaugurated yesterday.
The participants include 55 well-known restaurant chains and caterers.

There are also stalls by 30 private sweetmeat shops and confectioner outlets.
Delicacies of Bengal, Europe, China, Bangladesh, Russia, Afghanistan, and Japan, besides traditional and fusion sweets and desserts are available in the fair, which will continue till November 25.
The number of stalls has increased from 108 last year to 125 this year, as response of the people is encouraging.

Fair enters 4th year, state departments put up stalls too
Several state departments such as Agriculture, Fisheries Agriculture Marketing, Food Processing Industries, and Horticulture apart from Animal Resources Development have opened stalls at the fair, which enters its fourth year, Principal Secretary to the Animal Resources Development department, Anil Verma, told reporters.
