'ED seized all money,..had to beg for son's college': Sisodia
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia has opened up about the hardships he faced during his arrest in the Delhi liquor policy case. Speaking at "Janta Ki Adalat," an event organized by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sisodia revealed that his bank account was frozen by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), leaving him in a financial crisis. He said he had to "beg" for money to pay his son's college fees.
Sisodia's financial struggles and loyalty to AAP
Sisodia, who was arrested by the ED in February 2023, said that his ₹5 lakh flat and ₹10 lakh savings were seized during the investigation. "I had to tell people the ED has frozen my bank account. I had to beg for help," he added. Despite these challenges, Sisodia remained loyal to AAP and rejected offers from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He likened his bond with Kejriwal to that of "Ram and Laxman," stating no "Raavan" could separate them.

Kejriwal's dramatic resignation and future plans
On September 15, two days after receiving bail from the Supreme Court, Kejriwal announced his resignation as Delhi CM. He declared that he would only resume his position after obtaining a "certificate of honesty" from Delhi's citizens through assembly polls scheduled for February next year. Kejriwal also stated that Sisodia would only assume an official role following these elections. Following the resignation, AAP leader Atishi was appointed as the new chief minister of Delhi.
