Noida: Couple beaten up, stabbed, throats slit; another couple attacked
What's the story
In a barbaric incident, unidentified assailants beat up a couple, stabbed them, and slit their throats at the Jamalpur village in Greater Noida on Friday night.
However, that's not all.
Another couple, who lived 200 metres away from the victims' house, was also attacked in a similar manner but managed to raise the alarm before any fatal damage could be done.

Couple #1
No valuables were taken from the couple who were killed
On Saturday night, at around 1am, 63-year-old Azad Singh and his wife 56-year-old wife, Vedvati Devi, were fast asleep at their ancestral home in the village when they were attacked and killed.
It's believed that four men attacked the couple, while three kept watch outside.
While Singh's licensed pistol was stolen, no other valuables were taken from the house, leaving police perplexed.

"Although no cash or jewellery was stolen, the attackers left the almirah, table drawers and lockers open... We are yet to ascertain the motive for the crime as it could be a case of personal vendetta or robbery," said Vineet Jaiswal, SP (rural).
Couple #2
Another couple was attacked, but assailants fled as neighbors arrived
Just an hour later, around 2am, another couple was attacked.
Assailants, presumably the same ones, stormed Sudhir Singh and Shobha's home, locked up Sudhir's mother, and started beating the couple up.
However, Sudhir started crying out for help, and neighbors were soon alerted.
Subsequently, when neighbors assembled around the house, the attackers fled.
The couple were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Situation
The situation in the village remains tense; heavy police deployed
Understandably, the situation at the village is tense, and villagers have refused to cremate the bodies till the perpetrators are apprehended.
Meanwhile, a heavy police force, deployed in the village since Saturday, are keeping a close vigil to maintain public order, and five police teams have been roped in to probe the murders.
As of now, the perpetrators remain at large.
