Writing entirely with right leg, Assam girl aces class-X boards
What's the story
Making up excuses before attempting difficult tasks comes easy to us, but one should learn from this Assamese 17-year-old.
She was born without hands into an impoverished family living in the remote town of Mujrahar.
Still, that didn't deter her from writing this year's class-X exams solely with her legs and acing it.
Meet Jebin Kousar, who, crossing all hurdles, scored an impressive 63%.
Details
Jebin's life was far from easy
Eldest of six daughters, Jebin's life was far from being smooth.
In her childhood, she had to depend on her mother fully for all chores, including feeding her.
Moreover, her ailing father runs an auto-rickshaw on rent and earns a meager Rs. 5,000 per month.
But she trudged ahead with her studies, determined and motivated and today, she has made her parents extremely proud.
Information
Her school has 11 other 1st division-holders, but she's different
Along with her, 11 other students of Gyan Jyoti Academy, a private school in Hojai district, have secured first division in the HSLC examination under Assam Board of Secondary Education. But she's different, since she didn't take any tuition to achieve the feat.

Ambition
Ultimate aim: to be a teacher and visit Mumbai
Not one to be satisfied with immediate victory, Jebin has already enrolled in Arts stream at Mariam College.
Her ultimate aim is to be a teacher and visit Mumbai, a place she has only heard of in Geography classes.
But her poverty-stricken parents are worried her studies may be hindered due to paucity of funds.
For now, Murajhar Guidance Junior Trust has stepped in.
Inspirational
An inspiration: Jebin's photo now on school's ID cards!
She has become a role-model of sorts for the other children in her school.
To remind students that no obstacle is big enough to hinder one from dreaming, the school has printed her photo on the back cover of the identity cards of all the students.
Her neighbors said Jebin, despite her disability, does all chores herself, from lifting her bag to washing utensils.
