Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Arunachal Pradesh for the victory of the BJP.
“Thank you Arunachal Pradesh! The people of this wonderful state have given an unequivocal mandate to politics of development. My gratitude to them for reposing their faith in @BJP4Arunachal yet again. Our Party will keep working with even greater vigour for the state’s growth,” he wrote on X.
The Election Commission of India has announced the results for the Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a landslide victory securing 46 of the 60 seats. Notably, the party had already won 10 of these seats uncontested ahead of the polling.
The second largest party in the state with five seats is National People’s Party, followed by Nationalist Congress Party with three seats.
The People’s Party of Arunachal has won two seats, while the Congress managed to scrape through and secure one seat for itself in the assembly.
The other three seats have gone to Independent candidates.
The Election Commission of India has announced the results for the Sikkim assembly elections.
The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, has secured a dominant victory by winning 31 out of the 32 seats in the state.
The opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has been reduced to one seat.
SKM chief Tamang credited the landslide victory to the dedication of the SKM cadre and the trust the people have placed in his government.
“It is because of the love and trust of the people which we have managed to secure in the past five years in government. Besides, party cadres worked very hard. Now we have the next five years to give our 100% for the people of Sikkim,” he said at a gathering in Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.
Tamang won in both the Rhenock and Soreng-Chakung constituencies, where he was a candidate.
In 2019, the SKM had won 17 seats, ending the 25-year rule of the SDF.
Sikkim Chief Minister designate Prem Singh Tamang’s wife Krishna Kumari Rai won from the Namchi-Singhithang assembly constituency, the Election Commission of India said.
Krishna Rai the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate defeated her nearest Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) rival Bimal Rai by 5,302 votes.
Sikkim Chief Minister designate and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha chief Prem Singh Tamang has won the second seat for his party by defeating the Sikkim Democratic Front's AD Subba in the Soreng-Chakung assembly constituency.
Earlier, the Election Commission of India had declared Tamang the winner for the Rhenock assembly seat.
In Arunachal Pradesh, RWD Minister Honchung Ngandam and Tourism Minister Nakap Nalo are among the 44 BJP candidates who have emerged victorious in the assembly polls.
Counting continues, with the BJP leading in two additional seats.
Additionally, three Independent candidates have been declared winners.
According to the latest data from the Election Commission of India, the BJP has secured victory in 44 seats in Arunachal Pradesh and is leading in two more, marking a gain of five seats compared to its 2019 tally.
Meanwhile, the National People's Party has won five seats.
As of 2:00pm, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has won 21 out of 32 seats, marking a landslide victory over the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF).

The party's stronghold was evident when it won 10 seats uncontested, including the constituencies of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein.
The BJP is in a comfortable position to surpass its 2019 tally of 41 seats.
A notable outcome is the near-total defeat of the Congress, which led the state until Pema Khandu and 43 MLAs left the party in 2016.
As of 1:30 pm, the Congress was leading in just one seat with a vote share of 5.12%.
In the 2019 elections, the party had won four seats with a vote share of 16.85%.
The Congress's struggle was further highlighted by its difficulty in fielding candidates, managing to nominate only 19 contenders.
As the BJP sweeps Arunachal Pradesh election results, the National People's Party has secured wins in 4 assembly seats: Tawang, Liromoba, Mariyang, Longding Pumao.
The BJP on Sunday returned to power in Arunachal Pradesh for the third time in a row, as the party won 37 seats in the 60-member assembly and secured majority, officials of the Election Commission of India said.

As of 12:45 pm, data from the Election Commission of India shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party has garnered a vote share of 54.64% in Arunachal Pradesh.
The National People's Party stands at 16.53%, while the People's Party of Arunachal has secured 7.56% of the vote share.
The Congress has a significantly lower vote share of 4.90%.
According to the latest updated by the Election Commission of India, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has won 18 out of 32 assembly seats in Sikkim, crossing the majority mark to form the government.
Party chief and current Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang is set for another term, having won Rhenock with a majority of over 7,000 votes.
The opposition Sikkim Democratic Front has won one seat.
Former Chief Minister and Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) chief Pawan Kumar Chamling loses from both seats—Namcheybung to Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate Raju Basnet and Poklok-Kamrang to the SKM’s Bhoj Raj Rai.
Notably, Chamling made history on April 29, 2018, when he became the longest-serving chief minister in the country after surpassing the record set by the late Jyoti Basu of West Bengal.

Former Chief Minister and Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) chief Pawan Kumar Chamling is trailing behind Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate Raju Basnet by 1,935 votes in the Namcheybung seat, according to the Election Commission of India at 12:00am.
In the Poklok Kamrang Assembly constituency, he lost to Bhoj Raj Rai of the SKM by 3,063 votes.
Tenzing Norbu Lamtha from the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) emerged victorious in the Shyari seat–with a narrow margin of just 1,314 votes.
In this election, Shyari appears to be the sole seat that the SDF will secure.
