Jaitley had been undergoing dialysis since one month
According to reports, Jaitley had been undergoing dialysis since his diagnosis. He was admitted to AIIMS Saturday.
Today, he was moved to the operation theater at 8am.
An eight-surgeon team from AIIMS and Apollo was roped in for the procedure.

History
Jaitley's 2014 bariatric surgery a trigger of his kidney problems?
In September'14, soon after the BJP government came to power, Jaitley underwent a bariatric surgery to treat weight gain because of a long-standing diabetic condition.
It was first performed at Max Hospital, but he had to be later shifted to AIIMS because of complications.
Sources said Jaitley's present condition may be a fallout of that surgery.
Jaitley also had a heart surgery years ago.
