Army foils infiltration bid in J&K, one terrorist killed
The Indian Army has foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control, killing one terrorist in Uri sector north of Baramulla district, Kashmir. An army official said a weapon has been recovered from the encounter site and the operation is on. This comes a day after the army foiled a major terrorist attack in Uri, killing four terrorists.
Army chief says surgical strikes can be repeated
On Monday, Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat said terrorists will keep infiltrating but his men are ready to welcome them and bury "them two-and-a-half feet under the ground". He said the surgical strikes conducted on September 29, 2016, were aimed at sending a message to Pakistan and can be repeated, "if not in the same form and shape."
