Army foils infiltration bid in J&K's Baramulla, four terrorists killed
Four terrorists were killed as the army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, said a source. The group of infiltrators was intercepted by alert troops along the LoC in Rampur sector. "Four terrorists were killed in the gunfight and the search operation is still in progress," defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said.
Meanwhile, counter-militancy operations continue
A day earlier, the army had foiled a similar attempt in Uri sector, adjacent to Rampur. Two intruders of Pakistan's Border Action Team had been killed. Meanwhile, forces launched a counter-militancy operation late on May 26 at Saimoh village of Tral sector in Pulwama. The operations are still underway.
