What we know about the hardworking Archana Jayant
After completing her postgraduation, Archana joined the police force in 2016, and was posted to Jhansi. Owing to her work, she left her 10-year-old daughter, Kanak, with her in-laws, and was living alone in Jhansi for work. Her husband works for a leading car manufacturer in Gurugram, and the couple recently had their second child, who was seen in the viral photo.

Seeing Archana at work with her six-month-old infant, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Om Prakash Singh was beyond impressed. Within hours of the photo going viral, he announced that he was exploring options for having a creche at every police station to help working parents. An immediate cash reward of Rs. 1,000 was also given to Archana for her dedication.

Archana was transferred closer to home for her convenience
When the DGP spoke to Archana, the constable said that the only problem she had faced was the lack of family support. Subsequently, the DGP transferred her to her native district of Agra, closer home, where she will now live with the infant, and her 10-year-old daughter. The transfer pleased Archana, who will now spend Diwali with her entire family in Agra.
Archana expresses her joy after getting transferred
"I haven't met my parents and husband in a long time and now my Diwali will be with them. I will also bring my elder daughter...to Agra. I did face some problems in Jhansi but received great support from my colleagues," Archana told Indian Express.
