Apple-executive-murder: CCTV-footage may reveal what happened minutes before shooting
Just as the death of Apple executive, Vivek Tiwari, has turned into a political slugfest, a parallel probing team may soon be able to learn what happened minutes before he died. The CCTV cameras installed at the two gates and building of Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Shahkari Sangh (UPRNSS) may provide crucial details. The building is just 30 meters away from the crime scene.
Events of crucial eleven minutes may soon be revealed
According to CCTV camera installed in another building, Tiwari's SUV was moving slowly at around 1:19 AM on Sunday. The murder happened at around 1: 30 AM. What happened in those 11 minutes is unknown and CCTV camera of UPRNSS may help. The magisterial probe team headed by Additional city magistrate (ACM IV) Salil Patel has sought the footage.
Though cameras were facing crime scene, they may help
UPRNSS general manager SRK Rao said the data has been saved and they will hand it over to the SIT. Notably, the CCTV cameras didn't focus towards the crime scene, but the team is counting they would reveal series of events. Patel said the SIT led by IG Lucknow Sujeet Pandey will examine the footage. Two guard posts of the building were empty.
Backstory: Vivek was returning home after dropping colleague, was killed
On the unfortunate day, Vivek meant to drop his ex-colleague Sana home before returning to his. But constable Prashant Chowdhury allegedly shot him for not stopping the vehicle. Prashant and his colleague Sandeep Kumar were on night duty from 8 PM at Gomti Nagar of the state's capital. Sana registered an FIR and on Sunday the family got a second FIR lodged in this case.
Bullet injury on chin's left side killed Vivek, autopsy reveals
A post-mortem report revealed Vivek died of bullet injury on the left side of his chin. According to Sana, Vivek didn't stop the vehicle as he feared the police officials might misbehave with her. She said she was not allowed to receive or make any calls after the incident. Sana also revealed she was forced to sign a blank paper.
Meanwhile, Vivek's wife said she has faith in government
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Kalpana, Vivek's wife. After the meeting, Kalpana said she was in no shape to take a strong stand. "I had said that I have faith in our state government... today that faith has strengthened," she said. The state government has announced Rs. 25 lakh for the family, Rs. 5 lakh for daughters' education and Rs. 5 lakh for elderly mother.
