Patna student kills himself on WhatsApp video chat with girlfriend
In a disturbing incident, a 19-year-old youth in Patna shot himself while on a WhatsApp video call with his girlfriend. Family pressure for marriage and a failed examination had forced him to take the extreme step, reports said. On the call, the girl tried to convince him not to commit suicide. She even informed his relatives, but they didn't reach on time.
He kept asking her to marry him, then shot himself
Akash Kumar, a Saichak resident, was in a relationship with a Class 9 student. His family reportedly wanted him to end the relationship, but he wanted to marry her. Late on Sunday, he video-called her and asked her to marry him, but she said she would need time to convince her parents. He kept threatening to end his life, and finally shot himself.
Relatives say he accidentally pulled the trigger
When the girl saw him pulling out a gun, she called his kin and informed them, but Akash had shot himself before anyone could intervene. His relatives say it was an accident; the girl had apparently managed to convince him to remove the magazine, but he accidentally pressed the trigger and a bullet hit him. Police are investigating where he got the pistol from.
