Animation professional kills self; accuses wife, her aunt of harassment
What's the story
A 41-year-old man, Nishant Tripathi, died by suicide in his room at Mumbai's Sahara Hotel.
Before taking the extreme step, he had hung a "Do Not Disturb" sign on his door.
He had been staying at the hotel for three days before he was found dead.
Airport police initially registered an accidental death report, but the case took a different turn when his mother and sister produced a suicide message he purportedly uploaded on his company's website on March 3.
Heartbreaking message
Tripathi's suicide note reveals emotional turmoil
In a note uploaded to his company's website, the animation professional blamed his wife and aunt for driving him to take this extreme step.
"Hi babe, by the time you read this, I'll be gone. In my last moments, I could've hated you for everything that happened, but I don't. For this moment, I choose love. I loved you then. I love you now. And as I had promised, it's not going to fade," Tripathi reportedly wrote.

He also requested that his mother not be approached during her time of grief.
"My mother knows that among all the other struggles I faced, you and Prarthana mausi are also responsible for my death...I beg you, don't approach her now...Let her grieve in peace," he pleaded.
After her son's death, his mother Neelam Chaturvedi took to social media to express her grief.
She told TOI that even though the wife had filed for divorce, she used to blackmail him.

Chaturvedi also revealed she performed Tripathi's cremation at 'ECO-MOKSHA' in Mumbai on March 2, while her daughter Prachi performed the last rites of her elder brother.
She also revaled that she has been fighting for women's rights, gender equality, and other causes since she was 16 years old.
Through organizations such as Sakhi Kendra, she assisted over 46,000 women in need, secured justice for over 37,000 women, and empowered hundreds by giving employment and training.
Investigation underway
FIR filed against Tripathi's wife and aunt
The Mumbai Police have now filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Tripathi's wife, Apoorva Parikh, and his aunt, Prarthana Mishra. They are being probed for their alleged involvement in abetting his suicide.
However, no arrests have been made yet as the probe is underway.
The hotel staff found Tripathi's body after entering his room with a master key when he didn't respond for long.
