Another statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar was vandalized, this time in civil lines area of Satna, Madhya Pradesh. Desecration of statues has become the new normal. This incident happened just a day after two statues of Ambedkar were vandalized in Uttar Pradesh's Etah and Ferozabad. After the incident in MP, police had to intervene to calm down the angry Dalits. Dalits demand wall around statue, upper caste opposes idea
After the incident, angry Dalits demanded a wall to be erected around the statue. This demand was opposed by the upper caste. A timely intervention by police helped the clashes from turning violent. Earlier BJP MP from Bahraich, Savitribai Phule had said, "Cases of treason must be registered against those found desecrating, vandalizing or damaging the statues or busts of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar."

Despite Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath's stern order to district authorities to keep a check on such incidents, they have not stopped. After the vandalizing of Ambedkar statue in Ferozabad, BSP leaders protested against the government, raising slogans. A new statue was installed to cool down the tensions. It all started when BJP leaders vandalized a statue of Lenin in Tripura.
