Over 2.81 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance at Amarnath
Over 2.81 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas till date this year, officials said. "On the 51st day of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, 843 yatris (pilgrims) paid obeisance at the holy cave of Lord Shiva," they said. Till date, 2,81,227 yatris have had the 'darshan' of the 'Shivling' at the holy cave, they added.
Yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 26
The yatra was resumed from Jammu yesterday after three days long suspension due to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the officials said. The 60-day annual yatra commenced from the twin tracks of Baltal in Ganderbal and Pahalgam in Anantnag districts of the valley on June 28 and is scheduled to conclude on August 26 coinciding with the 'Raksha Bandhan' festival.
