UP: Suspected pro-Khalistan group militant arrested in Shamli
A suspected pro-Khalistan group member, who was involved in a plot allegedly to kill former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, was arrested in UP's Shamli district. The accused, Karam Singh, was arrested yesterday, Circle Officer, Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, said. Meanwhile, Jarman Singh, who was arrested yesterday in Rajasthan's Bikaner, in connection with the case, would be brought to Muzaffarnagar and sent to police remand.
Three others arrested for separate Khalistani attack on police personnel
Jarman is the leader of a pro-Khalistani module that had allegedly attacked police personnel and looted their rifles on Oct 2 in Shamli district. Three others arrested in connection with the Oct 2 incident were sent to ten days' remand by the court. They had revealed that they were linked to Khalistan Liberation Front and had planned to attack Badal during his political rallies.
