The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018 for admission to the prestigious IITs will be held on May 20. Registrations will begin on May 2. To appear for it, students have to clear the Main to be held in April. There will be two papers. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will get an hour extra for each. Find all details about the exam here.
Who can appear for the JEE 2018?
For JEE-2018, the candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the limit is October 1, 1988. They must have appeared and qualified in the Class 12 exam in 2016 or 2017 or preparing to appear for it in 2018. Those admitted to IITs before, or who had their admission cancelled, can't appear in the Advanced.
Necessary requirements for JEE Advanced
Only those among the top 2,24,000 (across categories) in Paper-1 of Main can attempt the Advanced, subject to reservation. A maximum of two attempts are allowed in two consecutive years. There will be two papers for Advanced, one from 9am-12pm and the second from 2pm-5pm.
How can you register for the exam?
Registration for Advanced will be open during May 2-7. Visit the registration portal at www.jeeadv.ac.in. Log in, enter necessary details and choose your preferred center of examination. Upload scanned copies of required documents. Pay the registration fees. The deadline for payment is 5pm, May 8. All correspondence regarding the exam will be sent to the registered mobile number and/or email ID.
