UPSC releases IFS Main exam schedule: Details here
The schedule for the Indian Forest Service 2018 Main examination has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (USPC). The IFS Main exam is scheduled to begin on December 2, and will continue up to December 10, with two sessions being held daily. Candidates who have cleared the IFS Preliminary examinations are eligible for the Main one. Here are the details.
Details about the examination format
On July 15, results were declared for IFS 2018 Prelims. December 2 onwards, the IFS Main exam will be held in a forenoon session (9am to 12 noon), and an afternoon session (2pm to 5pm). While General English and General Knowledge papers are compulsory, candidates are required to choose two additional subjects and take tests in both Paper-I and Paper-II for those two subjects.
Admit cards will be issued three weeks prior to exam
While the General English and General Knowledge papers will be of 300 marks each, both papers for the two optional subjects selected would carry 200 marks each. Candidates who have cleared the Prelims are required to fill a detailed application form (DAF) in order to be eligible for the Mains. Admit cards will be issued three weeks prior to the examination.
