Online applications for NEET 2018 can be submitted now
Online applications for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 can now be submitted at ntaneet.nic.in. This time, however, the newly-formed National Testing Agency (NTA) is in charge of conducting the exam instead of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which was in charge earlier. Candidates who clear NEET are eligible to seek admission for MBBS/BDS courses. Here's more.
Important dates and details about NEET 2019
Registrations for NEET 2019 will remain open till November 30, while admit cards for the examination will be available for download from April 15, 2019. In case candidates mistakenly enter incorrect information during application, the same can be rectified from January 14 to January 31. The exam itself will be held on May 5, 2019, and results will be declared on June 5, 2019.
Eligibility criteria for NEET 2019
To be eligible to apply for NEET 2019, candidates should have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English in their board exams. Candidates are also required to score at least 50% (40% for reserved categories) in their Class 12 exam to be eligible. Minimum and maximum age limits are 17 and 25 years, respectively.
Details about application fees
The application fee for NEET 2019 is Rs. 1,400 for general category candidates, and Rs. 750 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates. Application fees have be submitted by December 1.
What you need to know about NEET 2019 exam format
NEET 2019, like the years before it, will be a three-hour long exam and will contain three sections - Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Of the 180 questions, 90 questions will come from Biology, while 45 questions each will be asked from Physics and Chemistry. Correct answers fetch +4 marks, while wrong answers result in -1 mark. Unattempted questions don't fetch negative marks.
