CBSE to DU: Align admission process as per CBSE schedule
In a letter, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked the Delhi University to line up their admission process as per the schedule of the Class XII board result re-assessment. In a first, class XII results were announced by CBSE on May 2, in just 28 days after the exams were concluded. This happened following an order of the Delhi High Court.
CBSE has addressed the letter to the registrar of DU
Reportedly, a CBSE official said, "As per the directives of the Delhi High Court, CBSE has preponed all its activities of conduct of examination, declaration of result and process of verification and re-evaluation." "We have also written a letter to the Registrar of Delhi University to align the admission process as per the schedule fixed by the CBSE," official added.
DU's registration process is likely to begin from May 24
Further, in the letter, CBSE has asked the University to fix the last date of submitting of applications in such a way that it comes after the re-evaluation of class XII results has been completed. According to several media reports, the registration process for the undergraduate courses of Delhi University is likely to begin from May 24 and continue till May 31.
Date clash: Re-evaluation link to go live from May 24
St. Stephen's College, which doesn't follow the University's centralized admission process, will begin its admission procedure from today, media reports suggested. Meanwhile, the re-evaluation link for class XII students will go live from Friday, and will close at 5PM the next day. Considering how close it's to DU registration date, the Board may not be able to complete the re-evaluation process before May 31.
Earlier, Delhi HC had instructed CBSE to announce results sooner
Last year, the Delhi High Court had instructed CBSE to announce the board results early and complete the reassessment requests before the start of the Delhi University's admission process. In order to achieve that, CBSE started class XII exams from February 15 this year. The board results were announced on May 26 last year, creating problems for students seeking re-evaluation before admission in DU.
