Air Deccan's test flight successfully lands at Shillong airport
Air Deccan's 18-seater B190 aircraft landed at Shillong airport at Umroi. The flight was on trial run from Agartala under the Center's UDAN scheme. "The test flight went well, and we are satisfied with the facilities at the airport," an airline official said. Once test flight report is submitted to head office, the authorities will decide on the commencing date of regular flights.

Under the "Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik" (UDAN) scheme, the Shillong airport will be connected to North-eastern cities like Agartala, Aizawl, Dimapur, Imphal, and Silchar.
