AIIMS declares MBBS results 2017, Surat's Nisha is the topper
The results of AIIMS MBBS 2017 are out. They are available on the official website at www.aiimsexam.org. Surat's Nishita Purohit emerged as the topper. She was studying at Kota's Allen Career Institute. The selected candidates will be eligible for admission into the MBBS courses at AIIMS in New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh and Raipur.

Purohit, who scored 91.4% in her CBSE Class XII exams, is a national level basketball player, "but left it for a medical career". Her father and brother are IIT alumni, and her mother a homemaker. She plans to study either cardiology or radiology at the Delhi AIIMS. Apart from daily coaching classes of six hours, she says self-study and homework completion helped a lot.
How can you check the results
Visit the official website aiimsexams.org. Click on "Results". In the 'Academic Courses' section, you will see two PDF files dated 15th June. Click on them to find the results. Those who haven't qualified won't be intimated. "However, the marks/percentile scores of candidates will be available on AIIMS website," the official notification says.
1.5L candidates had appeared the exam
About 1.5 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam at various centres across the country on May 28. In the AIIMS MBBS course, apart from 100 seats that go to Indians, the rest are reserved for foreign students. After declaration of results, counseling will start from July 3. The first phase will continue for three days, till July 6.
