Ahmedabad Metro: First trial run to begin in January 2019
The first trial run of the much-awaited Ahmedabad Metro Train would be conducted in January next year, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said today. During the trial, the train will ply between Vastral village and Apparel Park on a 6.5km stretch, called as "priority reach", in east Ahmedabad. The above stretch is the part of 20.73km-long East-West Corridor of ambitious Metro Rail Project.

The project proposes to connect Vastral area in east Ahmedabad with the western suburb of Thaltej. "The work is going on in full swing. I've instructed the officials to make sure that the ongoing works don't cause any trouble to the people," Rupani said.
Proposed integration of Bullet Train, Metro, Kalupur railway station
Rupani visited the underground section of the Metro Rail near the main Kalupur railway station. He inspected the proposed integration of Bullet Train, Metro, and Kalupur railway station. The CM was told that a "mock-up" model of Metro coach will arrive in Ahmedabad by the end of next month and it'll be displayed at a suitable location for public viewing, the official release said.
Metro Rail Project is being implemented by MEGA
Metro Rail Project is being implemented by Metro Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA), a wholly-owned company of Gujarat government. In the first phase, the train would connect eastern-western and northern-southern suburbs in Ahmedabad. In the second phase, it will be extended to Gandhinagar.
