Ahmedabad shocker: Minor raped his 14-year-old classmate, got her pregnant
In a shocking incident which casts doubts on how we are raising our kids, a minor in Ahmedabad was booked for raping his classmate. The victim is all about 14 years old, and the accused, a year older has been taken into custody. According to reports, the victim became pregnant after the abuse and her parents were reluctant to file a complaint. Here's more.
Accused had sexual relations with victim for last six months
According to police, the victim and accused are neighbors and stay in Isanpur area of the city. The 15-year-old boy frequently visited her home. The accused had sexual relations with the girl for about six months, said a police official. Her parents took her to LG Hospital only after she complained of stomach ache. The doctors informed the parents their daughter was pregnant.
Police convinced girl's parents to lodge a complaint
Speaking on the case, ACP J Division, Vijay Rathod, said the parents weren't willing to lodge a complaint initially. "We convinced them to lodge a complaint as we had received a message from the hospital in this connection and a medico-legal case had already been registered at the hospital," Rathod added. Subsequently, a complaint was registered at Isanpur police station on Wednesday.
The accused is being counseled, revealed inspector
A case has been registered under relevant sections of POCSO Act. The police have also initiated the process of recording the victim's statement under Section 164 of CrPC. "Right now we have detained the boy, and he is being counseled," revealed inspector SM Patel.
