Here's how to get your admit card for JEE 2018
Aspirants who have applied for the JEE this year should expect their admit cards to be out in the second week of March. The admit card will be mandatory for appearing the Main exams scheduled on April 8 (pen-paper mode) and April 15-16 (online mode). Those who clear it qualify for the Advanced in May. Here's how you can download the admit card.
Follow these steps to download your admit card
The admit cards will be released on the JEE Main 2018 official website (www.jeemain.nic.in/webinfo/Public/Home.aspx). You will have to enter your application number, date of birth and security code to log in. The admit card will be displayed on the screen. Ensure you save a copy on your computer and take a printout. In case of any discrepancy, notify the JEE-M secretariat immediately.
Keep these guidelines in mind
The admit card is issued provisionally to candidates, subject to their satisfying eligibility conditions. Candidates are advised to reach the exam hall at least 2.5 hours before the commencement of the paper. Those claiming benefits under Persons with Disability (PwD) category must carry relevant certificates.
What is the JEE?
The Joint Entrance Examination decides admissions into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology. Only those among the top candidates in Paper-1 of Main can attempt the Advanced, subject to reservation. A maximum of two attempts are allowed in two consecutive years. There are some changes this time: the Advanced is going completely online, and question papers are designed scientifically with difficulty levels of 1-10.
Who can appear for the JEE 2018?
For JEE-2018, the candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the limit is October 1, 1988. They must have appeared and qualified in the Class 12 exam in 2016 or 2017 or preparing to appear for it in 2018. Those admitted to IITs before, or who had their admission cancelled, can't appear in the Advanced.
