Kumbh Mela: UP to build roads, name them after Vajpayee
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said every urban local body in UP will develop an attractive road that will be named as the "Atal Gaurav Path" after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Along with the beautification of these roads, all necessary and modern facilities would be provided, he said yesterday, adding the urban local bodies should also make arrangements for cleaning the drains.

Yogi said this is part of the preparations of the grand festival of Kumbh Mela, which will be held in Allahabad from January 15 to March 4 next year. He also reviewed various schemes such as "Namami Gange", "Amrut Yojana" and "Smart City Mission" and said the Sangam area should be cleaned in a way to generate a feeling of devotion among the visitors.
Ensure Ganga's cleanliness, adequate water, Yogi to officials
The Chief Minister also directed the Urban Development and Irrigation departments to hold a meeting in advance to ensure that there was adequate water in the Ganga during the Kumbh. He ordered that the holy river should flow uninterrupted from Bijnor to Ballia. Also, it should be ensured that from mid-December, no sewage canal, industrial or solid waste falls into the Ganga, he said.
