Aadhaar poses security challenges, admits Nandan Nilekani
Days after an IIT-graduate was accused of hacking into the Aadhaar database, former chairman of UIDAI, Nandan Nilekani, admitted that security was a big concern for Aadhaar. But he added UIDAI has the best security systems in place. He also dismissed hacking reports, saying, "People have tried to get access to OTPs, game others' details and capture them. It's not really a hack, though."
Systems need to be made secure, says Nilekani
Talking about the threat of data being misused on the digital platform, Nilekani said that all of the systems must be secured. While stating this, he added that it was a challenge but UIDAI practiced the best methods to keep a check on such situations. Commenting on privacy issue which is entangled with Aadhaar, Nilekani said that SC would take cognizance of the matter.
