The girl fainted at home a day after being raped
The crime took place on February 25. Khan allegedly raped the girl, whose family stayed nearby, inside the madrasa, and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone. But her condition kept worsening. The next day, she fainted at home. When her parents rushed her to a hospital, an examination revealed possible sexual assault. She then confessed to her mother.
Minor is traumatized but stable, doctors said
Her parents informed police at night yesterday, following which Khan was arrested. A case has been lodged under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO. Meanwhile, the girl is undergoing treatment at the BR Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini. She is traumatized but stable, doctors said.
Earlier, 51 girls were rescued from a UP madrasa
Sometime earlier, UP police had rescued 51 girls who were being held hostage in a madrasa in Shaadatganj. The matter came to light when residents reportedly found letters seeking help from the girls, who had somehow managed to throw them outside through windows. After they showed the letters to police, cops raided the place and nabbed the manager, who was sexually exploiting them.
