Jammu: 7,000 civilians joined two-day static display of military assets

Nearly 7,000 civilian visitors thronged the Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu that had organized a two-day static display of military assets to mark the second anniversary of the surgical strikes, a Defense spokesperson said.
The celebrations also marked the 86th-anniversary of the IAF along with the second anniversary of the surgical strikes carried out by the Army across the Line of Control.

The two-day event "Parakram Parv" started with the inauguration by Group Captain NK Choubey, officiating Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Force station, Jammu yesterday and culminated today evening.
"The event witnessed a huge turnover of nearly 7,000 enthusiastic visitors... The visitors were amused with the special display MI-17 helicopter, Air Force Garud commandos with their state-of-art weapons, and various other activities," the spokesman said.

"The youth were highly motivated to join the armed forces and serve the country in an elite manner," the spokesman said, adding they were highly appreciative of the gallant actions undertaken by the brave armed forces in various eventualities and realized Armed Forces are friendly.
