Truck rams into vehicle carrying Maha Kumbh returnees; 6 killed

At least six people were killed and several others injured after a truck rammed into a vehicle carrying devotees returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
The accident took place on Friday evening in the Kusmi Kala area near Nandganj police station, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.
The pickup van involved in the incident was reportedly carrying around 20 passengers at the time of the accident.
Medical response
Injured passengers rushed to Ghazipur Medical College
The injured passengers were immediately rushed to Ghazipur Medical College for treatment.
The district magistrate, along with police and administrative officials, promptly arrived at the scene to oversee rescue operations.
However, the truck driver managed to flee the scene following the crash.
This tragic accident comes two days after a stampede at the Maha Kumbh, which killed 30 people.
