J&K: 6 government employees sacked for involvement in terror funding
The Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed six of its employees, including policemen, on Saturday. The employees were found to be involved in terror financing activities linked to a narco-terror network run by Pakistan's ISI and other terror groups operating from its soil. With the recent dismissal, the government has fired eight employees in the past month over the same matter.
Dismissal invoked under Article 311(2)(c) of Indian Constitution
According to reports, the dismissal was executed by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, who invoked Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution. This particular article has been increasingly utilized since 2019, following the abrogation of Article 370. The J&K Police had gathered incriminating evidence against the employees, which showed that instead of assisting security forces in combating narco-terror funded by the ISI and terrorist organizations, they decided to collude and act as moles, India Today reported.
J&K government implements new measures against terrorism
In an effort to curb terrorism and separatist campaigns, the J&K government has now made it mandatory for all government officials to obtain an integrity certificate and clearance from the intelligence department at every promotional stage. This measure is aimed at preventing separatists and their sympathizers from infiltrating civil services and police.
