    What's the story

HCL Technologies today said its three-day mega recruitment drive in Lucknow saw a huge turnout of 5,600 young job aspirants from the city and its neighborhood.

"During the recruitment drive from August 10-12, 5,600 candidates appeared in walk-in interviews wherein 120 fresh engineers and over 600 fresh non-engineering graduates were selected," Executive VP Sanjay Gupta said.

Over 300 experienced professionals were also selected.

Gupta, who is also a Program Director (New Vistas), said in a similar recruitment drive in Noida earlier this month, 700 people were recruited.

The freshers will be given training by the company and during the training period, they would get a stipend.

HCL has started its operation in Lucknow in Oct'16 and has created over 2,500 jobs so far, Gupta added.

Gupta said HCL has tied up with banks to provide loans for the training, which would be repayable in easy installments from the employees' salary once they get confirmed.

While the training cost for engineers is Rs. 2L, for non-engineers it is Rs. 1L, he said.

The company has invested over Rs. 600cr in the last three years in its project in Lucknow.

Gupta said a number of people migrate from Tier-2 locations to work in metros and such opportunities by HCL would help them "stay rooted" in their native place and also help stem attrition and bring more stability to HCL's operations.

He said HCL has ensured the homecoming of hundreds of techies through its IT City project in Lucknow.
