4 detained for tailing Smriti Irani
Four youths were detained for reportedly following Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani's car in Delhi. According to the police complaint filed by her, they misbehaved and tried to intercept her car in Moti Bagh. The four were found to be DU students and were under the influence of alcohol. They were arrested for stalking and outraging the modesty of women, and released on bail.
What transpired?
According to police sources, the four youth, driving a white Santro car drove up to Irani's car as she was returning from the airport. The four youth were identified as Anand Sharma, Avinash, Shitanshu and Kunal, and were returning from a friend's birthday party. After being detained it was found that they were also drunk.
Delhi police makes statement
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police RP Meena said the four youth "have been held for speeding, drink driving and misbehaving with the minister and her staff."
