Bihar teachers face legal action over photo with RJD candidate
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against four government school teachers in Bihar for violating the model code of conduct (MCC) during an election. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint by Bagaha 2 block education officer, Vijay Kumar Yadav. Yadav filed the complaint after a photograph emerged online showing the educators alongside Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Deepak Yadav at an election office.
Investigation underway for alleged electioneering by teachers
Pathakhauli police have since registered a case against the four teachers. The accused, identified as Sanjay Kumar, Bholanath Yadav, Vinod Ram Paswan and Sunil Kumar Yadav, are under investigation for their alleged involvement in electioneering. "The four teachers are accused of taking part in electioneering and their photograph with a candidate has gone viral on social media," stated Bagaha sub-divisional police officer Kumar Devendra.
Teacher jailed for saying 'nobody should vote for Modi'
In another Bihar-related development, a government school teacher was arrested and sent to jail on Sunday for allegedly telling children in his class that nobody should vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. District education officer (DEO) Ajay Kumar Singh said teacher Harendra Rajak's conduct was brought to his attention by family members of students of the government secondary school at Amrakh in Kurhani block.
