Pune: 36 sexually assaulted kids rescued from Madrasa, Maulana arrested
What's the story
The police rescued 36 children from a madrasa in Pune's Katraj Kondhwa area after reports of sexual abuse surfaced. A maulana named Rahim has been arrested.
The kids rescued were aged between 5 to 15.
The matter came to light after two children were spotted alone at a railway station. The Railway police force informed an NGO 'Saathi' about the kids, and rescue followed.

Rahim undressed kids, touched their private parts, kids reveal
The two kids, who were found by the RPF, left the madrasa on July 23. They were counseled at the 'Balkalyan Samiti'.
They then revealed shocking details about the abuse. The kids, who belonged to Bihar's Bhagalpur, said Rahim used to undress them and touch their private parts.
The police and NGO 'Saathi' then swung to action and rescued the 36 kids.

Madrasa didn't register its details with cops or charity commissioner
The madrasa named Jamia Amubhuja Darul Yatama was not registered. Neither the cops nor the charity commissioner had its details. The FIR was registered under Juvenile Justice and POCSO Act; Rahim has been arrested on the complaint of the two kids.

A madrasa is supposed to be a haven where kids are educated, but lately, some have turned them into horrific places.
In January, a minor was allegedly raped by three in a madrasa in Nanded, Maharashtra.
A cleric of Hyderabad's Asif Nagar madrasa was arrested for sexually assaulting six boys. In this case, one of the victims informed his family about the abuse.
