3 traffic cops caught dividing bribe money on camera; suspended

Three traffic police officers from the Kalyanpuri circle in Gazipur, Delhi, have been suspended after being caught on CCTV accepting and dividing bribe money.
The incriminating footage, which has since gone viral on social media, shows one of the police officers engaged in a discussion with a man at a checkpost.
Following their conversation, the man is seen placing a bundle of cash on a table under the officer's supervision.

Viral video captures police officers' extortion
After the man departs, the officer counts the money before dividing it among his colleagues who are seen smiling as they receive their share.
Delhi lieutenant governor replied to a video of the incident on X saying that the three officers involved in the incident—two assistant sub-inspectors and a head constable—have been suspended.
"Taking cognizance of this post, after preliminary investigation, the above 3 policemen have been suspended and a comprehensive departmental inquiry is being conducted against them," he stated.

Public outcry over police corruption
This is not an isolated case of corruption within Delhi's traffic police force. In July, a constable was suspended for fining a South Korean man ₹5,000 without issuing a receipt.
The entire episode was recorded by the car's dashboard camera and widely shared online.
