Jammu: 21 dead, 69 injured after bus falls into gorge
What's the story
At least 21 people were killed and 69 injured after a bus carrying pilgrims fell into a deep gorge in Jammu district on Thursday.
The bus, carrying passengers from Kurukshetra in Haryana, veered off the road and plunged into a 200-meter-deep gorge near the Kalidhar mandir in the Tanda area of Akhnoor.
It was transporting pilgrims to the Shiv Khori area at the time of the accident.
Aftermath
Bus was a tourist vehicle
The injured passengers have been transported to Akhnoor Hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu.
Medical Superintendent at GMC Jammu, Narinder Singh, confirmed that they have received 16 patients so far from the accident site.
Singh stated, "This was a tourist vehicle, and these people (passengers) are not from Jammu, they are from outside."
