Security measures
Recent attack and heightened security at LoC
This incident comes days after an attack where suspected militants from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir opened fire on Indian soldiers patrolling the LoC in Rajouri district.
The Indian troops retaliated, but no casualties were reported on the Indian side.
In light of these incidents, security has been tightened along the LoC.
Earlier on Tuesday, locals had found a rusted mortar shell in Partap Canal near Namandar village, which was safely defused by a bomb disposal squad.
