Auto driver and four others rape a 19-year-old woman
A 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an auto rickshaw driver and four others in Gurgaon's Sohna. The incident took place on Tuesday when the woman was waiting for a bus for Aligarh at Sohna tempo stand at 8pm. Seeing her alone, the accused auto driver approached her and offered to drop her in Gurugram, saying she was like his sister, police said.
Driver stopped auto at an isolated place
"The auto driver told her that the bus plying for Aligarh had left and she could pick a bus to Aligarh from Gurgaon. He promised to drop her following which she boarded the auto," Gurgaon Police PRO Ravinder Kumar said. Kumar said after traveling for some distance, the driver stopped the auto at an isolated place where four of his friends were already present.
Accused offered a drink to woman laced with sedatives
"They offered her a drink laced with sedatives. The accused then took turns to rape her," Kumar said, adding that later they five fled the spot. The victim, however, managed to note down the registration number of the auto, the PRO said. "A case has been registered in Bhondsi police station and an investigation is underway to identify the accused persons," he said.
