18-yr-old woman kidnapped, held hostage, gangraped for 7 months
An 18-year-old woman was kidnapped at gunpoint, kept in confinement, and raped by three men for seven months, media reports said. The woman, somehow, managed to escape the clutches of the accused and alert authorities. The three accused kept changing states to hide their crime. An FIR was lodged in Gurugram and a manhunt to nab the accused has been initiated.
Woman went to pay off father's debts, accused kidnapped her
She belonged to Bhilwara, Rajasthan, but lived with her family in a rented accommodation in Gurugram. In January, she went to her hometown to return money her father had borrowed. But she never came back. Three men identified as Mukesh, Shiva, and Darbar, kidnapped and raped her on daily basis, she alleged. Her family said police failed to take action on the missing-person complaint.
Accused kept changing states to evade police action
To evade police action, the three men took the victim to Gujarat, and then to Delhi. They switched residences every few weeks. The victim said she was thrashed for resisting rape, and the accused also threatened to kill her. Two weeks ago, they brought the victim to a house in Wazirabad, Haryana. She somehow managed to get out of the room to seek help.
Victim saw her mother on road, was rescued
Just as she saw was staring at the road for help, the victim saw her mother. She told what happened to her family. The police registered a complaint under IPC Sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 363 (kidnap), 376D (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention). The police reached the house where the victim was kept but the accused had fled by then.
