UP: 15-year-old thrashed, hung from tree for resisting molestation
In a shameful incident, a 15-year-old was thrashed to death and hung from a tree on Tuesday for resisting a molestation bid in Uttar Pradesh. The incident was reported from Mainpuri district of the state, and four accused have been identified in this case. The victim's brother, who rushed to rescue her, was also assaulted, police said. Mainpuri additional police superintendent O P Singh said the girl was returning home from school with her two friends. They had gone to attend a function on Gandhi Jayanti. He said the victim was hung using her dupatta. Her brother identified three accused as Shivam, Mangal and Vikas, residents of a nearby village, who were arrested. The fourth accused was identified as Ranveer.
SP Police says investigation is underway
Mainpuri police superintendent Ajay Shankar Rai said the investigation is underway and soon they will be able to learn the exact details of the incident.
