137 meritorious police wards granted scholarships by J&K DGP
Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid today granted a scholarship of Rs. 6.34 lakh in favor of 137 wards of serving police personnel, who have secured 80% and above marks in 10th board examinations during 2017 academic session. The DGP said the scholarship has been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Scholarships sanctioned to boost morale of police wards
"The scholarship of Rs. 6,000 have been given to 43 wards each for securing above 90% marks and Rs. 4,000 to 94 wards each who have secured 80% and above marks in the class 10th examination," a police spokesman said. "Police Headquarters have been sanctioning scholarships under different heads for the wards of martyred and serving Police personnel to boost their morale," he added.
