11 killed in two separate accidents in Himachal Pradesh
Eleven people were killed, and seven others were injured in two separate accidents in Himachal Pradesh late Thursday night, the police said on Friday. Eight pilgrims were killed, and one was grievously injured when the driver of their car lost control over the vehicle, and it fell into a gorge eight kilometers from Swarghat on Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, they said.
Seven people died on the spot, while one succumbed later
The car was returning to Amritsar from Manikaran when the accident happened, DSP Anil Sharma said, adding seven people died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries later after being taken to the Nalagarh hospital. A case has been registered in the incident, and the bodies have been sent to Bilaspur for post-mortem, the officer said.
Three killed, six injured in the second accident near Una
In the other incident, three people were killed, and six were injured when a state transport bus on its way to Delhi collided with a car near Una, police said. The car was on its way to Fatehpur in Kangra from Haridwar. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Una, from where four were referred to PGI, Chandigarh due to serious condition.
