Is Ranveer replacing SRK in 'Don 3'? Zoya Akhtar replies
After the success of Padmaavat, Simmba and Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh is certainly on top of his game. And giving impetus to his success, there were reports that Ranveer is likely to replace Shah Rukh Khan in the much-anticipated Don 3. However, producer Zoya Akhtar has rubbished those reports, saying there has been no development in the project. Here's more on what she said.
SRK exited the popular franchise due to personal reasons
To recall, a report published in Pinkvilla claimed that the big development came after Shah Rukh left the project abruptly citing personal reasons. His decision apparently left Zoya in a fix, who decided to rope in her new favorite, Ranveer for the role. It was mentioned that she was impressed with Ranveer's performance in Gully Boy and decided to work with him again.
Absolute nonsense, Zoya says on Ranveer replacing SRK as Don
The reports soon spread like wildfire. After all, SRK has been the face of the franchise ever since. So when Zoya was quizzed about the rumors, she rubbished the reports of roping in Ranveer for Don 3 and called them "absolute nonsense".
Zoya refused to talk about 'Don 3'
Zoya was also quizzed about the current status of the movie, and she naturally refused to divulge any details. "Neither am I Farhan Akhtar, nor am I Shah Rukh Khan or Ritesh Sidhwani," she added. Meanwhile, there were reports that Don 3 is likely to hit the floors by mid 2019. However, an official announcement is still awaited in this regard.
'Don 3' is now known as 'Don: The Final Chapter'
Separately, the third installment of the franchise has got a new title and is now called as Don: The Final Chapter. As the name suggests, it would mark the end of the Don series. Though reports of the Don franchise coming to an end made the audience sad, the makers would compensate for it and promised to end the series with an incredible climax.
