Zoya Akhtar to make 'ZNMD' sequel, but conditions apply!
It's been seven years since the release of Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and the movie continues to be one of the evergreen favorites. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Katrina Kaif, it was a coming of age movie and was widely appreciated by the audience. And now Zoya has revealed that she is keen to make its sequel.
Zoya's condition for ZNMD sequel is justifiable
The news of ZNMD sequel did get fans all excited. However, Zoya emphasized that she will make the movie only if she gets a good script. "Katrina, Farhan, Kalki and Hrithik, all four guys are very special to me. I really share a good bond with them so I can't even think of making a sequel just for the sake of money," she asserted.
Zoya is looking forward to working with Hrithik
For the uninitiated, ZNMD marked Hrithik's third collaboration with Zoya with whom she shares a close bond. So during a recent interview, when Zoya was quizzed about working with Hrithik, she was all excited about the thought. "I'm dying to work with Hritik. I'm really keen to work with him again so planning to make a sequel to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara," Zoya added.
Hrithik played a cameo in Zoya's directorial debut
Interestingly, Zoya made her debut with 2009 release Luck By Chance starring Farhan. And, Hrithik had a cameo in it. Talking about the same, she said, "I started my career with Hrithik and Farhan, and I'm looking forward to working with them soon".
'ZNMD' was a story of forever friendship and discovering oneself
To recall, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara revolved around the story of three childhood friends who were on a bachelors trip in Spain. The movie chronicled their adventures, their misunderstandings and how they overcame all the difficulties and rediscovered themselves. As interesting as it sounds, ZNMD did give new friendship goals to the youth back then and became the favorite movie of youngsters.
Zoya's 'Gully Boy' receives a thumbs up from the audience
Meanwhile, Zoya is enjoying the positive response for her recent directorial Gully Boy. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the movie revolves around the hip-hop culture in India, and opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. In fact, according to trade experts, Gully Boy, which made Rs. 18.7cr on opening day, is expected to do more business in the upcoming days.
