The trailer of the Aanand L Rai directorial has got 100 million views across platforms, making it the first Indian movie to achieve the feat. First the good news
Bauua Singh and his quirk stole hearts

In the movie, set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, SRK plays the role of vertically-challenged Bauua Singh. Anand L Rai and SRK join hands, we've high hopes
Rai, who is known for making movies set in the heartland, brought Bollywood's biggest superstar for his next and everyone got visibly excited. What has raised expectations from this movie is that Himanshu Sharma has written the screenplay and dialogues of it. In case you didn't know, Sharma co-wrote 'Raanjhnaa', and we all know how popular the dialogues became.
Meanwhile, the movie has courted controversy and has 'hurt' sentiments
The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that 'Zero' hurt Sikh religious sentiments. In his complaint, Sirsa claimed that SRK devalued Sikh Kakaar - 'Gatra Kirpan'. Notably, one of the posters of 'Zero' featured SRK wearing Kirpan as an ordinary dagger while it can only be worn by Amritdhari Sikhs.
Makers have said the movie doesn't depict a Kirpaan
After the row, makers released a statement saying in the movie doesn't depict a Kirpan. "The filmmakers have been careful not to hurt the feelings of any community including the Sikh community. The film is about celebrating incompleteness and to tell a heartfelt story," the statement read. Whether the movie will see a smooth release or not, is only a question time will answer.
