Dangal actress Zaira Wasim, Anand Kumar get awards from President
Children's day turned out to be really special for the girl who gave us Dangal. Actress Zaira Wasim and Super 30's founder, Anand Kumar, who selflessly prepares underprivileged children for IITs, were conferred with National Child Awards on November 14 at Rashtrapati Bhawan. At the award ceremony, 16 children were awarded, out of which 15 got silver and one gold. Here's more!
Why are National Child Awards given?
The National Child Awards 2017 were awarded to celebrate the exceptional achievements of children as well as individuals and institutions who work for the welfare of children. This year, the National Award for Child Welfare was conferred on 3 individuals and 5 institutions. Dr. Virender Kumar, Minister of State for Women & Child Development, was also present at the event.
Zaira Wasim's achievements so far
Zaira Wasim made her debut in what we call a movie of the millennium, 'Dangal'. It not only got countless awards but became the first Indian movie to cross Rs. 2,000 crore in the national & international market. Her second movie 'Secret Superstar', portrayed her best side as an actress and she was hugely lauded for her performance in the film.
